Job Purpose:

Responsibilities include operating XYZ stages, microscopes and other tools to collimate, align and test high power laser diodes.  Manual pick and place die attach and inspection.

Duties:

• Will test chip on sub-mount and bar on sub-mount laser diodes. 
• Lens, align and test fiber coupled laser diodes.
• Enter performance and inspection results on computer interface and Excel spreadsheets.  
• Die attach and inspection of GaAs chips and bars, using various tools and special ovens.
• Inspect die under microscope and follow a strict quality criteria.
• Use of calipers for calibration checks.

Skills/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred and/or a minimum of 1 year experience, 3 years experience in electronics assembly is preferred.  Must be detailed oriented and have mechanical dexterity.  Excellent communications skills and proficiency in Word and Excel.  Must be self-motivated, responsible, positive and professional.  Experience with fiber optic inspection techniques and photonics assembly is a plus. 10,000 class clean room environment.  Must be willing to wear clean room attire for the duration of the shift while in the clean room.  Must be able to constantly remain in a stationary position. High level of manual dexterity is required.
