Lasertel, a subsidiary of Selex Galileo Inc., was founded in 2000 to design, manufacture, and produce high-power semiconductor lasers for a variety of markets including defense, industrial, medical and graphic arts.
Lasertel designed and constructed a state of the art 10,000 square foot, vertically integrated semiconductor laser manufacturing facility including wafer growth, processing and packaging within the first year of operation. Initial products were qualified and in full production shortly thereafter. Lasertel’s initial product portfolio included 830nm and 915nm single emitter chips and fiber coupled devices for the graphic arts market.
Through rapid expansion of its product portfolio and development of innovative QCW and CW array stack technology, Lasertel established a leadership position as a supplier of high reliability pump sources to the defense market. To support steady increase in demand for bars and stacks a third solid source MBE reactor was added in 2006.
Lasertel continued its growth through the addition of expertise in electronics, thermal management and software development and expanded its clean room by an additional 5,000 square feet in 2009 to produce sub-assemblies and turn key systems, In 2010, Lasertel began shipments of its first turn-key medical laser system.
Lasertel has a broad range of expertise that enables the rapid development and deployment of complex custom turn-key solutions for use in a broad range of applications.
